This candidate chose the shell as his symbol. The shell was used as currency before the colonialization of West Africa. Now, the shell symbolizes wealth and is used to decorate jewelry, buildings and is printed on money. The candidate used to be the director of a bank and runs on a platform of good governance. By using the symbol of the shell, he is saying to simple people that he will bring wealth and prosperity to Benin. This is why people love him.
